Tanintharyi Region

The Mergui archipelago must be one of the last untouched tropical island systems left on earth. This gem in the south of Myanmar is home to two hotels, one of which is a casino near the Thai border and the other a guest house situated on the stunning Mcleod Island two hours boat ride from the mainland. Very few of the nine hundred or so islands have permanent habitation save for a few fishermen and the Moken sea gypsies. If you make the trip to this stunning area of untouched country you are more than likely to encounter nothing but dolphins and verdant green islands, azure blue seas and tropical reefs.
